Stanislaus County Bail Bonds

The county of Stanislaus uses the same assumptive bail rate schedule as all counties across the state of California. Thus, when a defendant is arrested in Stanislaus and given the opportunity to pay bail for the crime(s) that she or he has been accused of committing, the defendant will have to pay the same amount of bail as defendants that are arrested for the same crime in other counties.

When a defendant is given the opportunity to be released from jail on bond in Stanislaus, the defendant may opt to use the services of a bail bonding agency in order to ensure that the full amount of the bail bond is paid. The bail bond agency will provide the defendant with the full amount of the funds that are required for his or her release from jail in exchange for a down payment.

Most bail bonding agencies charge a down payment of about ten percent of the total cost of the bail in exchange for their services. In addition to the down payment, many bail bonding agencies will also require that the defendant provide assets as collateral in case the defendant fails to fulfill a legal obligation.

If the defendant fulfills the full legal obligation, then the bail bonding agency will receive a refund of the amount of the bail bond, even if the defendant was found to be guilty. However, if the defendant fails to appear in court for any of his or her court dates, the bail bonding agency will not receive a refund. In such circumstances, the agency may take possession of the collateral that the defendant had put up.

If the defendant fails to fulfill the legal obligation, the bail bonding agency may also hire a bounty hunter to track down the defendant. If a bounty hunter is used, then the defendant will be charged for his or her services. Also, the defendant will be returned to jail. In many cases, after a person has failed to appear once, the person will not receive the opportunity to be released from jail a second time.
